Tchaikovsky

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) was a Russian composer of the Romantic era. His wide ranging output includes symphonies, operas, ballets, instrumental and chamber music and songs. He wrote some of the most popular concert and theatrical music in the classical repertoire, including the ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, the 1812 Overture, his First Piano Concerto, his last three numbered symphonies, and the opera Eugene Onegin. Tchaikovsky wrote many works which are popular with the classical music public, including his Romeo and Juliet, the 1812 Overture and his three ballets (The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty). These along with two of his four concertos, three of his six numbered symphonies and his opera Eugene Onegin are among his most familiar works.
