Franz von Suppé or Francesco Suppé Demelli (1819-1895) was an Austrian composer of light operas from Croatia. He was a composer and conductor of the Romantic period notable for his four dozen operettas. The descriptive nature of von Suppé's overtures have earned them frequent use in numerous animated cartoons for instance the overture to Light Cavalry is used in Disney's 1942 Mickey Mouse cartoon Symphony Hour.

Suppe - Light Cavalry Overture
Leichte Kavallerie (Light Cavalry) is an operetta in three acts by Franz von Suppé in 1866. The Overture to the Light Cavalry was adopted as the quick march of The Queen's Own Hussars upon their formation in 1958.
