Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) was a French Romantic composer, best known for his Symphonie fantastique. He composed Catholic church music and is claimed by the church as one of their own in the Catholic Encyclopaedia. Yet Berlioz often stated in his letters that he was an Atheist.
